What Is Banana’s Backrooms?
The Banana Eats backrooms map is easy to get lost in. Called Banana’s Backrooms, this Level 0-inspired maze has four puzzles, sparse scenery, and plenty of opportunities to lose your bearings. Learn the routes between recognizable landmarks so you can work on objectives and reach an exit when it opens.
Despite its empty appearance, the map contains lockers, doors, crawlspaces, barrels, books, and camping tents. Those details matter: they give you something to recognize when the surrounding passages start looking familiar.
The setting draws on The Backrooms, a horror concept about entering an unfamiliar place by clipping out of reality. Level 0 provides the inspiration for this map’s appearance. The books and camping tents suggest that someone has already spent a long time living here without finding a way out. Despite that premise, Runners still follow Banana Eats’ escape objective: hide from Banana, complete hidden puzzles, and leave when the exits open.
The sparse layout favors Banana by making exposed Runners easier to spot. As a Runner, pay attention to both your destination and the nearest place to break line of sight.

Where to Find the Cake Puzzle

Look near an exit for the cake puzzle. Use that location to connect an objective with a route you will need later.
When you find it:
- Identify a nearby landmark you can recognize on your return.
- Note which doorway or passage brought you there.
- Look for nearby lockers and crawlspaces before focusing on the puzzle.
There are four puzzles on this map, so keep exploring beyond the cake area. Work on objectives as you navigate, then head for an exit once the exits open.
Avoid making the cake location your only point of reference. If you recognize the destination but forget the approach, finding your way back through similar-looking passages can still become a problem.
How to Stay Oriented as a Runner
Use books, camping tents, barrels, and doorways as navigation markers. Build a short mental route between landmarks instead of trying to memorize every turn immediately.

For example, remember the passage connecting a tent to a doorway, then connect that doorway to the next recognizable area. Add another segment as you explore. This gives you a route you can retrace without needing a complete mental map.
Players coming from Peeled High School have a different set of landmarks to work with: that map includes classrooms, a gym, a library, and studio rooms, along with five puzzles. Banana Manor also has four puzzles, but its two floors contain distinctive spaces such as a kitchen, a dining room, a children’s playroom, and a library. In the Backrooms, use the smaller environmental details to distinguish stretches of the maze.
Before stopping at a puzzle, identify your way out of that area. Use the map’s lockers and crawlspaces as hiding and escape options, and keep track of where their approaches connect.
When Banana appears, move toward a route you recognize. Choosing turns blindly can leave you disoriented even after you break line of sight.
How to Hunt as Banana
Take advantage of the limited visual cover. Scan exposed passages as you move, and watch where Runners turn when they spot you.

Use the puzzle areas as patrol landmarks, including the cake location near an exit. Connect those areas through recognizable passages so your patrol covers different routes.
Pay attention to the approaches to lockers and crawlspaces. When a Runner disappears around a doorway, check the nearby escape options before moving farther away. The same landmarks that help Runners navigate can help you track where a chase is heading.
Banana Eats supports up to 10 players per server. For a hunting objective beyond winning the round, the Absolutely Rotten badge requires eating 9 players in a single round. On the Runner side, Okay without K requires being the only survivor to escape in a round with at least 9 players.
